God's word is preached faithfully each and every Sunday in the historic sanctuary of South Highland Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in Birmingham, Alabama.

Established in 1888, South Highland serves \"in the heart of the city, for the whole of the city, with the passion of Christ.\" People from all areas of the city and its suburbs attend SHPC for a Christ-centered community of worship, study, belonging, renewal, growth, and outreach. We're a congregation eagerly seeking to bring glory to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through an emphasis on worship, the study of Scripture, and prayer, and a mission-minded church focused on living out the call to be the hands and feet of Christ in Birmingham and in communities worldwide.

September 29, 2024 - In Mark 2 and elsewhere, Jesus is confronted by the Pharisees about violating Jewish laws about activities on the Sabbath. Rev. Dr. Doug Webster points out that affirming Jesus as Lord of the Sabbath is a weekly opportunity to devote ourselves to the fellowship of believers.
